thanks to everyone who gave very useful information in my previous post asking for laptop advice. of course, this week transfigured into a nasty tard and prevented me from replying. so sorry. D:

in any case, after much information gathering, i have decided on either of these two:

Toshiba Satellite A205-S5825

or

HP Pavilion dv6700z

i think either of these two would do for my back-up/mobile needs. both have mostly the same specs for $550.00, except that the Toshiba one has Intel Dual-Core (1.73GHz) while the HP has AMD Dual-Core (1.9GHz). i do plan to stick in another 1GB RAM into it in the near future, cos it only comes with 1GB.

the HP one will have better graphics cos of the NVIDIA video card maybe, but the Toshiba has shared video memory.

..did i look like i knew what i was talking about regarding graphics? cos i definitely didn't know what i was saying. XD any comments on that point? it's only for light gaming, but still v. important. :D

in any case, my mom told me she'll be buying it in the US. a friend will be travelling to the philippines end of july so i might get it then. not definite yet, but still. i'm so excited~
